New Delhi, May 22 (UNI): President Ram Nath Kovind has appointed Bombay HC's Justice Bhushan Ramkrishna Gavai, Himachal Pradesh Chief Justice Surya Kant, Jharkhand High Court CJ Aniruddha Bose and Gauhati HC CJ A S Bopanna as new Supreme Court Judges.

Supreme Court's collegium, on May 9, comprising five judges, had recommended their names for elevation to SC as judges.

This development comes almost five years, after the inclusion and elevation to SC of these four judges and now the Supreme Court will function at its full strength of 31 judges, including the CJI.

They will be administered oath on May 24.
