New Delhi/IBNS: Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who was admitted to Delhi's All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) last Sunday, has been discharged from the hospital, media reports said.

Singh was taken to AIIMS on Sunday night after he developed a febrile reaction to a new medication.

He was tested negative for Coronavirus on Monday.

In his political career, Singh has been a member of India’s Upper House of Parliament (the Rajya Sabha) since 1991, where he was Leader of the Opposition between 1998 and 2004.

Singh became the PM for the first time in 2004.

After the Congress party was defeated in 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Singh resigned as the PM of the country after serving for ten years.

Singh was succeeded by present PM Narendra Modi in 2014.
