Former Gujarat CM Sankarsinh Vaghela finally quits Congress on b'day

| | Jul 21, 2017, at 10:06 pm
Ahmedabad, Jul 21 (IBNS) : Disgruntled Congress leader from Gujarat Shankarsinh Vaghela quit the party on Friday.

The announcement of the former Chief Minister came on his 77th birthday.

Vaghela, who was rumoured to have made plans to join the BJP, however, asserted that he won't join any other party.

Earlier, Vaghela had said the Congress ‘party sacked him 24 hours ago’

Vaghela  has reportedly been sulking for not having been given a free hand for the party's campaign for the Gujarat assembly elections to be held later this year.

Earlier, Vaghela  slammed the state Congress over “lack of homework” for the assembly polls.

As the leader had talked about making an "important announcement" on his birthday, the Gujarat Congress issued a warning to him  on Thursday not to “play any politics” under the guise of his birthday celebrations.
