FIR against BJP MP Babul Supriyo for his theme song on election

Kolkata, Mar 19 (UNI): The Election Commission on Tuesday issued a show-cause notice to sitting Asansol MP and Union minister of state for heavy industries and public enterprises Babul Supriyo for his campaign music-video against Mamata Banerjee's TMC.

Additional chief electoral officer of West Bengal Sanjay Basu has said the music-video was posted on social media and some local TV news channels aired it without certification from the Election Commission.

He has been asked to reply within 48 hours of receiving the notice, Basu said.

The campaign song "will not be aired" till further orders by the commission, the additional chief electoral officer of West Bengal added.
