Fake clothing worth Rs 19 lakh seized in Kolhapur

Kolhapur, Feb 28 (UNI) The Gaonbhag police on Thursday raided an apparel shop located in the Ichalkaranji town of this district and allegedly seized fake branded shirts, jeans and other fashion accessories valuing up to Rs 19 lakh.

According to police, the raid was conducted based on a tip-off and a huge stock of clothes bearing the fake label of brands-Diesel,Tommy Hilfiger and other such names of premium companies was found in the shop, Brand Kingdom.

Three persons, having the joint ownership of the shop, have been booked under the relevant sections of the Copyright Act,1957, police added.

Further investigation is underway and no arrest has been made so far in the case, police said.
