Explosion in Kolkata college during examination, no casualties reported
Kolkata, Jun 30 (IBNS): A crude bomb explosion was reported in Bhairab Ganguly College on Thursday afternoon at Belghoria under Barrackpore Police Commissionerate limits in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district, very close to Kolkata, reports said.
According to reports, sound of a crude bomb explosion was heard from college's toilet at around 3 pm, while an examination was underway there.
Ground floor of the college building was covered with smoke. The incident triggered scare among the students.
Police from Belghoria Police Station and senior officials of Barrackpore Police Commissionerate rushed to the spot later.
Police recovered at least two crude bombs from the toilet, sources said.
"Three crude bombs were stored inside college's toilet. One of those somehow exploded. We recovered the rest two. We have started probe into the matter to know who placed the bombs in college-toilet," one senior official of Barrackpore City Police told IBNS.
As nobody was present at toilet that time, no casualty was reported in the incident.
