Ex-Thane Mayor Mohan Gupte dies

Thane, Apr 5 (UNI) Mohan Gupte, who was the Mayor of this city between 1990-91, died on Friday after suffering from prolonged illness, said family sources.

Late Gupte was 88-year-old and known for his social yearnings and actively participated in the works of social organizations as well as the Rotary Clubs across the city.

He was associated for long time with the CKP Club and Arya Krida Mandal.
The erstwhile first citizen of this city was also actively involved in local politics and later joined the Nationalist Congress Party after Congress stint.

Her daughter is a Major in army of the United States of America.
