Ex-minister Madan Mitra shifted to hospital from jail

Kolkata, Apr 27 (IBNS) Former West Bengal minister and Trinamool Congress leader Madan Mitra, who was arrested in connection with the Saradha chit fund scam case, has been hospitalised following complaints of chest pain and breathlessness, reports said.

He was  was taken to state government-run SSKM hospital from Alipore jail on Tuesday night.

A seven-member medical board, headed by cardiologist Shibnath Dutta, has been formed for his treatment.

On Wednesday morning, he underwent ECG. 

 
Mitra had complained of chest pain on Saturday and wanted to be admitted to hospital ahead of the fourth phase of assembly polling, but that was not granted.
