Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 29 (UNI): Former ISRO chairman G. Madhavan Nair on Friday received a death threat from terror group Jaish-e-Mohammad.

According to the sources, following the threat, a high level probe is being initiated by Kerala Police, which sent the letter, warning against supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for forensic examination.

The police registered a case on the basis of the letter which was received by the former chairman two days ago.

The 75-year-old scientist was the recipient of several awards, including Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan.

Madhavan Nair, who recently joined BJP, was instrumental in developing the cryogenic engine for the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) for the country.
