Eight arrested for the murder of Karnataka's Bajrang Dal activist

Mangalore, Oct 21 (IBNS) Eight people have been arrested for killing a Bajrang Dal activist who participated in a campaign that led to the closure of slaughter houses in Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka, reports said.

In what is being believed a revenge killing, Prashant Poojary, the Bajrang Dal activist was hacked to death by a gang of six at Boodbidri on October nine.

Most of the arrested are members of Popular Front of India.

Media reports quoted Police Commissioner S Murugan as saying,"Those arrested in connection with the murder of Prashant Poojary were Mohammad Sharif, Mustafa Kavoor, Mohd Mustafa and Kabir. The investigation is on. Other offenders who were also involved in these offence are being identified and will be arrested shortly."
