Edhi refuses to take Indian PM Modi's donation

Islamabad, Oct 27 (IBNS): Humanitarian Abdul Sattar Edhi on Tuesday refused to take the 10 million Indian rupees donation that was offered to his charity by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"Abdul Sattar Edhi has thanked Mr Modi and politely declined to accept his announced financial help," Edhi Foundation Spokesman Anwar Kazmi was quoted as saying by Dawn News.

The Foundation had looked after Geeta who returned to India on Monday.

Geeta  was  accompanied by five representatives of the Edhi Foundation, including Bilqees Edhi, the Pakistani woman who adopted her and took her care all these years.

Faisal Edhi of the Edhi Foundation, Pakistan’s largest charity, told reporters they would stay in touch with Geeta through social media and even visit her.
