Jaipur/IBNS: The Enforcement Directorate is conducting searches at top Rajasthan minister Rajendra Yadav's residence in connection with a money laundering case linked to the state's midday meal scheme, media reports said.

The raid was conducted at Yadav's Kotputli town in Jaipur.

Yadav, an MLA from Kotputli and the second most important member in the Ashok Gehlot cabinet, holds Higher Education, Planning, State Motor Garage, Home, and Justice portfolios in the government run by Congress.

Reports say ED might be conducting the search along with the Income Tax Department at Yadav's residence.

The movement to and fro the minister's residence and office has been restricted, NDTV reported.

The search is conducted just a few months before Rajasthan enters into the assembly elections.

The state, which was won by Congress in 2018, is facing a competition from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming polls due to be held in December 2023.
