Kolkata/IBNS: West Bengal Transport Minister Suvendu Adhikari, who has been recently seen maintaining distance from TMC and holding rallies without party banner or flag, on Thursday resigned as the Chairman of the Hooghly River Bridge Commissioners (HRBC), sources said.

After Adhikari left the position, TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee has been appointed as the new HRBC chairman, according to an order issued by the state government.

No reaction has been received yet from Nandigram MLA Suvendu Adhikari on this matter.
