Digvijaya Singh ties knot with Amrita Rai
New Delhi, Sept 6 (IBNS): Ending all speculations, Congress leader Digvijaya Singh has finally tied the knot with TV anchor Amrita Rai.
Rai made an official announcement about their marriage on Facebook on Sunday.
"I would like to share with my friends that I and Digvijaya Singh have married in a solemn ceremony, as per the Hindu rites. We have also later registered our marriage," Rai wrote on Facebook.
She has alleged that she has been treated like a "criminal."
"I was the victim of cyber crime but was treated like a criminal. I was trolled and abused in most derogatory language for no fault of mine... I kept a dignified silence and went on with my work, believing in myself and my love for Digvijaya," she said.
Digvijaya Singh had earlier accepted his relationship with Rai on social networking site Twitter.
"I have no hesitation in accepting my relationship with Amrita Rai. She and her husband have already filed a mutual consent divorce case," he had tweeted.
"Once that is decided we would formalise it. But I do condemn encroachment in our private life," the Congress general secretary said.
Singh has lost his wife in 2013 due to prolonged illness.
