New Delhi, Apr 24 (UNI) The Delhi police on Wednesday arrested Rohit Shekhar Tiwari's wife Apoorva Shukla on charges of his murder.

Rohit, son of former Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister N D Tiwari, was declared brought dead in Max hospital, Saket, around a week ago.

He was said to have been under depression, sources said and the cause of death was a mystery prior to post-mortem as people suggested illness or other reasons.

The Delhi Police registered a case after post-mortem report suggested that cause of his death was unnatural.

According to sources in the family, it was reported earlier that Rohit was under stress due to not being successful in politics.

Rohit had filed a paternity suit in 2008, to prove that he was the son of ND Tiwari, a Congress leader.

In 2014, Mr Tiwari had finally accepted that Rohit was his son, following denials, long lawsuits and a DNA test.
