Delhi: Around 200 shanties gutted in a fire incident in Sultanpuri

New Delhi: Around eight persons suffered injuries and at least 200 shanties were gutted in a major fire at Sultanpuri in Delhi, Delhi Fire Service said on Friday.

According to DFS, due to stampede during fire, eight persons sustained minor injuries who were identified as Surajmal (72), Kapoor (50), Sagar (25), Pappu (55), Babloo (65), Kawar Singh (52), Raj Singh (72) and Chand (55). The injured were given first Aid on the spot.

The fire department informed that a call was received at around 0013 hours about a fire incident in jhuggi at Sultanpuri near Puth Kalan.

A total 21 fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the blaze. The fire was under control, informed DFS.
