Delhi: 143 people held for bursting firecrackers

New Delhi/UNI: Delhi Police arrested 143 people for bursting firecrackers during Diwali on Thursday, as per Delhi Police data provided on Friday.

According to police, a total of 281 people, 143 for bursting firecrackers and 138 for selling or supplying them, were arrested between September 28 and November 4 (Diwali).

Around 19702.489 kg of firecrackers were seized during this period as the government had announced a complete ban on firecrackers till January 1, 2022.

The police registered 125 cases for selling or supplying firecrackers and arrested 138 people in this connection from September 28 to November 4.

According to police data, around 210 cases were logged for bursting crackers and it nabbed 143 people in this regard.
