New Delhi: The Data Protection Bill, which is aimed at protecting personal data and ensuring privacy, is set to be introduced during the upcoming monsoon session of Parliament, media reports said.

This development follows the clearance of the bill by the Union Cabinet.

The introduction of this proposed legislation is anticipated to have wide-ranging implications for privacy and data protection.

It aims to create a robust framework that safeguards personal information while also fostering growth within the startup sector.

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw recently expressed the government's intention to pass both the Digital Personal Data Protection Bill and the Telecommunication Bill during the monsoon session.

This announcement has garnered a lot of attention and interest from technology and social media companies over the potential impact of these bills on their operations.
