Dadri mob attack survivor says he cannot go back to the village
Lucknow, Dec 7 (IBNS) Danish Akhlaq, the son of Mohammad Akhlaq who was lynched by a mob on Sept 28 at Dadri in Uttar Pradesh, for allegedly eating beef at his house triggering a nationwide intolerance debate, said on Monday that he is unwilling to go back to the place where his father was killed.
Speaking to NDTV, Danish said about the attackers, "I knew 60 percent of the attackers, they were mostly friends."
"We were beaten that day for no fault of ours. We were attacked without any reason. If you stay in a village where very few of your own community live, and then you are beaten without any reason, can you go back? I don't ever want to go back," Danish told the channel.
Danish who claimed to have been hurt by the action, said, ""I don't know why it happened. I had never even fought with these people when we were in school."
The Akhlaq's now live in Chennai, there Sartaj, Danish's older brother is a Corporal in the Indian Army.

Mohammad Akhlaq, 50 and his son, 22, were dragged out of their home by local residents in Dadri in Uttar Pradesh, and beaten with bricks, allegedly over rumours that his family had eaten and stored beef. Mohammad Akhlaq died on way to hospital while the condition of his son (Danish) was critical.
The incident also led to returning of national awards by several literary and other personalities from the field of art and culture.
