Cyclone Biparjoy: Amit Shah's Maha Jansampark campaign in Odisha postponed

Bhubaneswar/IBNS/UNI: Senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s scheduled Maha Jan Sampark campaign in Odisha has been postponed, state Party General Secretary Prithiviraj Harichandan said here on Wednesday.

Shah and several other top BJP leaders were scheduled to visit Odisha on June 17 as a part of the month-long Maha Jansampark campaign of the party to apprise the people about the success of the BJP government during the last nine years.

The party had decided to organise four Maha Janasampark rallies and several small meetings in Odisha during June.

Harichandan said Shah’s visit has been postponed after the IMD predicted that the cyclone ‘’Biparjoy’’ will make landfall in Gujarat on June 15 and it is likely to cause extensive damage in the Coastal region of Gujarat.

The Home Minister, he said, is busy reviewing the situation to minimise the loss of lives and property.

Harichandan said a fresh date for his visit would be finalised after the crisis is over.

On the other hand, there is no change in the June 22 programme of National President J P Nadda to visit Kalahandi, Harichandan said.
