New Delhi, Nov 11 (IBNS): The Congress on Friday slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government over his move to ban Rs. 1000 and Rs. 500 notes and said economic activities in the country has been stalled for the past two days.

"For the last two days in India the economic activities have stalled. People are struggling outside banks across the nation," Congress leader Anand Sharma said while addressing a press conference here.

"People are standing in long queues outside banks so that they can get some liquid currency to cater to their daily expenses," he said.

Sharma said the Modi government has misled people on the issue.

"Modi Govt & BJP are misleading the nation. A propaganda is being spread by the BJP. They are targeting anyone who is asking questions," Sharma said.

"The people were promised that they would have currency from the 10th of Nov. Govt knew that there was not enough currency..The procedures were made so that common people would be delayed & face difficulties," he said.
