Crime branch to probe violionist Balabhaskar's death case
Thiruvananthapuram, Jun 2 (UNI) Kerala Crime Branch, which is investigating the mysterious death of violinist Balabhaskar in a road accident in 2018, will now probe his former manager Prakash Thambi, who was recently arrested by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), in connection with a gold smuggling case.
It was reported that Prakash Thambi was the coordinator of Balabhaskar's musical programmes.
The 40-year-old singer-musician had met with an accident at Pallipuram, near his hometown Thiruvananthapuram in September, 2018, when Balabhaskar, along with his wife Lekshmi and their two-year-old daughter Tejasvini, were coming back from a temple trip in Thrissur.
Their car rammed into a tree, killing the baby girl, while Balabhaskar and his wife were seriously injured.
Balabhaskar died on October 2, 2018, after battling for life in a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram for a week.
