COVID-19: West Bengal crosses one lakh mark in sample testing, tally reaches 2961

Kolkata/IBNS: After achieving a major milestone by conducting over one-lakh COVID-19 tests, West Bengal on Tuesday reported that the total number of confirmed cases in the state has mounted up to 2961, including 1637 active ones, 178 deaths, 72 comorbidity deaths and 1074 discharges.

Officials in the state health department said that the state has tested 1,02,282 samples till date with 8712 tests conducted in the last 24 hours.

Issuing a health bulletin, the state health department said that 136 new cases and six COVID-19 deaths were reported in the past 24 hours.

"Current coronavirus recovery rate in the state is 36.27 per cent," the bulletin read.

Presently, 12482 persons are kept in government quarantine centres while 86952 people are under home surveillance in West Bengal, according to the state bulletin.
