COVID-19: 1,116 people under observation in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram/UNI: Kerala Health Minister KK Shailaja on Monday said 1,116 people are under COVID-19 surveillance in the state.

Stating that total six people tested positive for the coronavirus in Kerala, she said total 1,116 people were placed under surveillance, of which 149 were in the isolation wards in different hospitals across the State.

"Out of 807 blood samples sent to the Virology Institute, the results of 717 tested negative. We are also awaiting the lab reports of the others," she said.

Urging the people coming from abroad to contact the health department, the Minister said Kerala took several measures to stop the spread of the deadly virus, now active in 102 countries.
