Congress UP president Raj Babbar granted interim bail

Prayagraj, Mar 16 (UNI) Congress UP president Raj Babbar was granted interim bail on Saturday by an MP-MLA Special Court vis-a-vis a case regarding an issue arising in a procession in Lucknow during the SP regime in 2015. 

Defence lawyer Sheetla Prasad Mishra on Saturday said that Babbar appeared before the Special Court and presented papers related to the leader's bail.

MP-MLA Presiding Officer Pawan Kumar Tiwari, while accepting his bail plea, fixed the date for the next hearing on April 5.

The Defence lawyer said that a procession regarding the due of the sugarcane farmers in Lucknow was underway in the leadership of the then Congress state president Nirmal Khatri in the year 2015 and lathi-charge had been done during this time.

A case against party president Khatri, Raj Babbar, Madhusudan Mistri, Pradeep Mathur, Pradeep Jain, etc had been registered at the Hazratganj police station in this connection.
