Congress slams RSS,BJP on girl trafficking issue

| | Jul 30, 2016, at 08:06 pm
New Delhi, July 30 (IBNS): Congress spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi on Saturday accused the RSS of separating minor girls from their parents and breaking laws in Assam.

"In Assam, RSS has separated minor girls from their parents, in violation of all laws: @priyankac19 at AICC briefing #RSSTraffickingGirls," a tweet on the official Twitter page of Congress read.

"Girls taken away without proper NOC. Probe has debunked RSS claim that the families were riot affected. The homes these girls are living in are not legal & are not following procedures laid down under our juvenile justice laws," the party tweeted quoting Chaturvedi.

Charutvedi said that RSS' action was a direct contravention to the ones directed by the Supreme Court in 2010.

"The girls have been taken out in contravention of 2010 Supreme Court order," she alleged.

"Even the NOC that is being offered as evidence, was procured after these young girls were taken away," Chaturvedi added.

Demanding action, she said, "Will the BJP take action against RSS workers who have acted in contravention of Juvenile Justice Act & Supreme Court ruling,"

Chaturvedi also took a potshot at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said, "Is this PM Modi's & RSS's version of "Beti Bachao"? Will the Assam Govt take action against the RSS?"

Echoing Chaturvedi's sentiments, Shobha Oza, the President of Mahila Congress called it a shameful incident.

"Its shameful the manner in which young girls are being taken away from their families in violation of laws," she said.

"The NOC they are showing was procured a month after the children were taken away," Oza alleged.

"This is not restricted to Assam. Girls from the Tribal belt are being taken away from their families by RSS," she added.

Oza said that these incidents have exposed the RSS and their hidden agenda.

"RSS cover has been blown. Their hidden agenda of indoctrinating young impressionable minds has been completely exposed," she said.

Demanding answers from the BJP government, Oza said, "The BJP Govt needs to answer why these girls, when they were rescued by police & child right activists, were not sent back home. Why were these girls sent to Gujarat, even after being rescued. What role did the BJP Govt play in this?"
