Congress not to send spokespersons on TV debates for a month

New Delhi, May 30 (IBNS): Amid internal crisis following the poll debacle, the Congress party has decided not to send any of its representatives on television debates for a month.

Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala tweeted, ".@INCIndia has decided to not send spokespersons on television debates for a month.
All media channels/editors are requested to not place Congress representatives on their shows."

The announcement came at a time when Congress president Rahul Gandhi is insisting on resigning despite party's senior leaders' disapproval.

Gandhi has reportedly asked the party members to find his replacement to lead the Congress, which suffered a massive defeat in the hands of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Lok Sabha polls.

The BJP has swept the polls by winning 303 seats while the Congress could win just 52 seats, eight more than its 2014 General Elections tally.
