Congress fields former Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar from Sasaram, Ranjit Ranjan from Supaul

New Delhi, Mar 29 (UNI): The Congress on Friday fielded senior party leader and former Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar from Sasaram-SC Lok Sabha seat of Bihar while Ranjeet Ranjan has been fielded from Supaul Lok Sabha seat of Bihar.

The names of Meira Kumar and Ranjeet Ranjan featured in the 14th list of 12 Congress candidates for the Lok Sabha elections.

The list, cleared by the Central election committee of the congress and released by AICC General secretary Mukul Wasnik, includes four candidates from Bihar, seven from Odisha and one candidate from Uttar Pradesh, which was a replacement of the earlier candidate from Maharajganj.

Earlier on Friday, the Congress declared the candidature of Bollywood actress Urmila Matondkar from Mumbai North Lok Sabha seat.

The party has so far declared 305 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections.
