Bengaluru, Jun 1 (IBNS): Congress leader Venugopal Rao said on Friday that progress has been made in the talks regarding the formation of the cabinet in Karnataka, with JD(S) and Congress leaders having come to an agreement, according to media reports.

JD(S) and the Congress came to a post-poll alliance to keep the BJP out of power.

While the Congress has 78 MLAs, the JD(S) has 36. The coalition has also garnered support from the lone MLA of BSP and an independent.

A formal announcement is likely later on Friday, reports said.

The date and time of swearing-in ceremony is likely to be decided by the Governor of the state, media reported.
