Chennai building collapse toll rises to 9

Chennai, June 29 (IBNS) At least nine people were killed and more than a score are feared trapped under the debris of an eleven storey building that collapsed in Chennai on Saturday.

Two people from the construction company have been arrested. The building collapse at around 6 pm Saturday at Moulivakkam near Chennai.

While rescue operations continued, teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have also been deployed.

Earlier, 27 people were rescued.  

The incident occurred on a day when seven people died in a building collapse in New Delhi's Indralok area.
