Central forces start route-marching Kolkata, ECI takes stocks of poll preparedness in Bengal

Kolkata, Mar 16 (UNI) As Deputy Election Commissioner Sudip Jain began taking stock of the poll preparedness and overall law and order situation across West Bengal, the Central para-military forces today began routemarching the city streets to instill confidence among the people for 7-phase general elections commencing April 11 for 42 Parliamentary seats.

Jain has been reviewing the election preparedness of the state with meeting top officials as well the political parties, both national and regional outfits.

State Additional Chief Electoral officer Sanjay Basu said Jain had meeting with all the District Magistrates, Superintendents of Police and Commissioners in this regard either through video conferencing or across the tables.

West Bengal is going for seven phase polls this time.
