New Delhi, Apr 27 (UNI/IBNS) Jet Airways, which has temporarily shut down operations due to financial crisis, has appealed to aircraft maintenance engineers and employees engaged in maintenance of aircraft in the airline to return to work to ensure that the aircraft fleet of the airline is maintained and preserved on a regular basis.

In a communication to the employees, Pavan Chhabra, Regional Manager–Line Maintenance(North & East) Jet Airways (India) said,''We have several aircrafts parked in Delhi, which require to be maintained and preserved on a regular basis. Non-compliance of these tasks will result in these aircraft becoming un-airworthy and may result in us losing our regulatory approvals.

This is something that we cannot afford,as this may jeopardize the revival plans of the airline. The company continues to engage with the lenders to resolve the current situation and it is our responsibility that we continue to support the company in this endeavour.''

He said that even a skeletal staff strength would suffice to meet the present requirements of the company.

''I am sure that you appreciate that our daily workload has been reduced to a fraction of what it was. Therefore even a skeletal staff strength will suffice to meet our present requirements,''he said.

He said that the company was working on a flexible roster where-in staff required for work would only be called and the rest could be at home '' We are working on a flexible roster where-in staff required for work will only be called and the rest can be at home. No leaves will be deducted for staff who is not called for work,'' he said.
