Cabinet Secretary Ajit Seth gets extension of six months

New Delhi, Dec 5 (IBNS): The Appointments Committee of Cabinet has extended Cabinet Secretary Ajit Kumar Seth's term for a further period of six months beyond December 13, 2014.

"The Appointments Committee of Cabinet has approved extension in service to Shri Ajit Kumar Seth, IAS (UP:74) as Cabinet Secretary for a further period of six months beyond 13.12.2014. ," the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions said in a statement.

Seth is an IAS officer of the 1974 batch and belongs to the Uttar Pradesh cadre.

He took over as Cabinet Secretary on June 14, 2011 with a fixed tenure upto June 14, 2013.

The previous UPA government had extended Seth's tenure by a year, and now. the Narendra Modi government extended it by six months in June this year.
