Bollywood rapper Honey Singh, Bhushan Kumar booked for 'vulgar' lyrics in music video

Mohali, Jul 9 (UNI) Bollywood rapper Honey Singh and music producer Bhushan Kumar were booked on the charges of 'vulgar' lyrics in their song 'Makhna'.
They have been booked by the Punjab police on the complaint of Punjab State Women Commission.

In a communique to the Director General of Police, the Commission had asked him to check the contents of Honey Singh's music video 'Makhna'.

Mohali SSP Harcharan Singh Bhullar said that the police booked the duo after it found the contents objectionable and further investigation is still on.

He said the police would soon summon both the accused.

A case has been registered under Sections 294 (punishment for obscene act or words in public) and 509 (words, gestures intended to insult woman) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 67 of the Information Technology Act and Section 6 of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act at Mataur police station here on Monday night.

Commission Chairperson Manisha Gulati had also demanded a ban on the song.
