BJP sweeps Tripura civic by-elections, Ram Madhav appreciates CM Biplab Kumar Deb

Agartala, Dec 28 (IBNS): The Bharatiya Janata Party registered a thumping victory in the bypolls for the vacant seats in different municipal bodies and Agartala Municipal Corporation.

The ruling party bagged 66 of the 67 seats.

Polling was held on Dec 27.

Senior BJP leader Ram Madhav congratulated Tripura CM Biplab Kumar Deb over the victory in the polls.

"Hearty congrats to Biplab Deb n Tripura BJP for winning 11 municipalities in d local body elections. Facing rout CPM ran away midway from election yesterday afternoon. BJP now controls 11 out of 20 municipalities in d state," he tweeted.

BJP came to power by winning the Assembly polls in Tripura earlier this year.
