Mumbai, Aug 21 (IBNS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday won the Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation civic polls by bagging 61 of the 95 seats.

Its ally Shiv Sena managed to get only 22 seats.

The result was worst for the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), which did not bag a single seat.

In the 2012 poll, the NCP had won 26.

After BJP's massive win, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis tweeted: "Huge win for @BJP4India at #MiraBhayandar ! Now, development is certain.
We will certainly live up to the expectations of people."

"#MiraBhayandar Municipal Corptn election victory is because of wave of 'vishwas & vikas' created by PM @narendramodi ji &team BJP's efforts!," he wrote.

Fadnavis congratulated his party leaders for the win.

"Congratulations to leaders&karyakartas for spectacular win! I thank people of #MiraBhayandar for having faith in us! I assure speedy devpt," he posted.
