BJP booth president killed in Assam’s Tinsukia district

Guwahati/IBNS: Ahead of the assembly polls in the state, a BJP booth president was killed by miscreant in Assam’s Tinsukia district on Friday night.

The incident took place at Doomdooma Nagaon area under Margherita assembly constituency in upper Assam’s Tinsukia district.

The deceased person was identified as Debananda Gogoi and he was the BJP’s booth president under Buhidihing village panchayat under Margherita assembly constituency.

According to the reports, Debananda Gogoi was stabbed to death at Doomdooma Nagaon area.

Meanwhile, police have arrested the accused Joy Chandra Gogoi resident of the same village.

The first phase of polls for 47 assembly constituencies will be held on March 27.
