Bihar topper scam : Science topper arrested

| | Aug 03, 2016, at 05:34 pm
Vaishali,Bihr, Aug 3 (IBNS) : A schoolboy in Bihar who ranked third in science in Class 12 exams, was arrested on Wednesday morning in connection with the 'Bihar topper scam' case, reports said.

Rahul Kumar was arrested by a Special Investigation Team from Vaishali, 62 km from state capital Patna. He is the second student to have been arrested.

More than a dozen students  of the Vishnu Rai College were asked to appear for a re-test after television reports exposed the massive organised scam in which the result of a number of toppers in the examination were faked.

Rahul failed the test, after which his result was cancelled. Before him a girl, Ruby Pal, who had not appeared for the re-test, was arrested.

In all, 20 people have so far been arrested in connection with the scam which, many believe, has its roots deep in society.
