Bihar: Huge quantity of explosives recovered in Gaya

Gaya/UNI: Police today recovered huge quantity of explosives from Koleshwari forest under Barachatti police station area in Gaya district.

Commandant of Cobra battalion 205, Dilip Srivastav said here that during the search operation, three powerful Improvised Explosives Device (IED) of 12 Kg each were recovered from Chakanwa hills in Koleshwari forest.

Huge quantity of gelatin, iron plates, 25 bottles of chemicals used in preparation of IED were also recovered from the spot, he added.

"Explosives was suspected to have been hidden by naxalites," Srivastav said, adding that a major incident was averted as recovered material was to be planted to engineer explosion.

Raids were being carried out to nab naxalites who hid the explosives with the intention to cause destruction and loss of human lives, he further added.
