Bihar: Huge consignment of foreign liquor seized

Chhapra, May 22 (UNI) Police seized huge consignment of foreign liquor worth nearly Rs 40 lakh from a truck and arrested its driver under Ekma police station area in Saran district today.

Police Superintendent Har Kishore Rai said here that 376 cartons of foreign liquor were seized from the truck on Chhapra-Siwan NH 731 when the vehicle was checked on suspicion.

 

He said, police chased the truck driver and overpowered him when he was trying to escape from the spot.


The Police Superintendent said that the total quantity of seized liquor was 3,283 litres and it was manufactured in Haryana.

 

The truck driver was being interrogated.
