Bihar: Criminals loot pick-up van and commodities worth lakhs of rupees

Hajipur, Mar 18 (UNI) Unidentified criminals looted a pick-up van and various commodities worth nearly Rs 40 lakh loaded on it on Mahatma Gandhi bridge under Industrial police station area in Vaishali district late last night.

Police said here today that motorcycle borne criminals intercepted the van of a courier company on gun point and later escaped with the vehicle by leaving its driver and cleaner in an isolated place under Avatarnagar police station area in neighbouring Saran district. Sources said that the commodities valued at nearly Rs 40 lakh loaded on the van were looted.

Police said, the commodities were being transported to Motihari in East Champaran district when these were looted.

An FIR had been registered at the police station concerned in this connection.
