Bihar: Brother-sister killed in fire mishap

Chhapra, Jun 1 (UNI) A brother and his sister were charred to death when fire broke out at a house at Baligaon village under Parsa police station area in Saran district today.

Police said here that Rambhu Sah`s son Kundan Kumar (8) and daughter Sohani Kumari (5) were burnt to death on the spot when fire broke out at their neighbour Upendra Sah`s house. The children went to the house to attend a ‘Tilak’ ceremony.

Police said the fire was caused due to short circuit.

Sources said an LPG gas cylinder also exploded in fire engulfing six other adjoining houses.

Sources said properties worth nearly Rs one lakh were destroyed in the inferno as firemen doused flames with the cooperation of local people. The bodies had been sent for autopsy.
