Bhutan Prime Minister arrives in Delhi on three-day visit
New Delhi, Jul 5 (IBNS): Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay arrived in New Delhi on Thursday on a three-day visit.
Minister of State for External Affairs V K Singh welcomed Tobgay on his arrival.
"Golden Jubilee of the diplomatic relationship between India and Bhutan which was established in 1968 with the establishment of a special office of India in Thimphu! PM of Bhutan, Dasho Tshering Tobgay was warmly welcomed in Delhi," MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted.
During the Bhutan PM's visit, both the countries are expected to hold discussions on a host of issues, including economic cooperation and security ties.
The visiting leader will hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and call on President Ram Nath Kovind.
MEA had earlier said Tobgay's visit would "provide an opportunity to both the sides to hold discussions on issues of mutual interest, and advancing the exemplary ties of friendship for the benefit of the two peoples."
It said India and Bhutan enjoy unique ties of friendship and cooperation, are characterised by “utmost trust” and “mutual understanding”.
