Bengaluru horror: Woman stripped, assaulted and filmed over unpaid loan interest; 4 arrested

Bengaluru/IBNS: Four people, including two women, have been arrested for allegedly stripping and assaulting a woman over her failure to pay loan interest, media reports said.

The accused have been identified as Nazrath, Reshma, Suheil and Saif. They allegedly filmed the assault and threatened to circulate the video on the internet.

Woman allegedly harassed over loan payments

According to media reports, the victim had borrowed Rs. 1 lakh from Reshma a couple of years ago but had failed to pay the loan interest for the past six months.

She had also borrowed Rs. 50,000 from Nazrath, whom she knew through Reshma.

Although the woman had been paying Nazrath Rs. 5,000 every week, she allegedly defaulted on payments for four weeks due to financial difficulties.

Anticipating further harassment, the woman reportedly blocked Reshma's number and moved to an unknown location.

Woman allegedly lured with promise of work

In the meantime, Nazrath allegedly contacted the woman and assured her that she could arrange work and money for her.

When the woman reached Nazrath's house, she was allegedly abused and assaulted before being forcibly taken in an autorickshaw to a suburb.

The group allegedly took her to a house near Kumbalgodu, where she was stripped and assaulted.

Four arrested after missing complaint

The accused were arrested after the victim's mother filed a missing-person complaint.

Police have launched a further investigation into the incident.
