Bengaluru, May 3 (IBNS) Helped by CCTV footage, police have arrested a cab driver in Bengaluru in connection with the abduction and attempted rape of a 25-year old woman, reports said.

The cab driver, Akshay, has confessed he was the man seen in the footage lifting and carrying off the woman from outside her paying
guest accommodation.

The woman,  a native of Manipur, was abducted while she was on a call in front of her paying guest hostel in the city on April 23. But it
was captured by a CCTV.

She was taken to an under-construction building nearby where the man allegedly tried to rape her.

The victim said she fought him and escaped after biting the abductor's hand.

City Police Commissioner N S Megharikh said a police two-wheeler patrol had gone to the spot on the day to ask about the incident but
neither the woman nor the PG owner gave any complaint
