Bengal polls: CPI-M activist killed in Murshidabad

Murshidabad, West Bengal, Apr 21 (IBNS) A Left activist was murdered in poll bound West Bengal's Murshidabad district on Thursday, according to reports.

The victim, identified as Tahidul Islam, was killed in bombing outside a polling station near Shiropara at Domkol area in Murshidabad district, where phase three of assembly polls is underway.

The TMC, who was blamed in the incident, downplayed it and said that it is a strategy by their opponents to malign their image.

The Election Commission has asked Murshidabad DM to submit reports at the earliest.
