Srinagar, Jan 24 (IBNS): Baramulla has become the first district in Jammu and Kashmir with no surviving militants, a DNA report said.

The police made this claim after three militants were killed at Binner village in the district on Wednesday.

"Baramulla has become the first district of Kashmir with no surviving militant as on date. J&K Police extends its thanks to the local population for all their support in providing a better security environment in the district," the report quoted a police spokesperson.

The state's director-general of police Dilbag Singh complimented police and said he expected further consolidation of peace efforts both by the police and the public, the report added.
