Audio of JD-S chief demanding Rs 40 cr for nomination as party MLC released
Bangalore, July 6 (IBNS): Janata Dal (Secular) chief HD Kumaraswamy has allegedly been heard, in an audio clip released by MLC aspirant Vijugowda Patil, demanding Rs 40 crores to nominate an MLC from the party.
Vijugowda Patil had failed to secure a nomination as an MLC.
In the video released by him, Kumaraswamy and Patil are allegedly heard bargaining the deal, where the latter is trying to bring down the deal to Rs 10 crore.
"Kumaraswamy allegedly in a fit of anger has said in the video that since he has 40 MLAs in the Assembly and they would all have to vote for the MLC candidate, they would each need 1 crore at least, as they have taken huge loans to spend on the assembly elections in 2013," CNN-IBN reported.
The conversation happened in June.
Post the release of the video, Kumaraswamy has not denied this clipping, instead has said that they were all trying to arrange funds for other elections. He also added that the deal never worked out and there is no proof that he took money finally, the channel reported.
