Ahmedabad, Aug 18 (IBNS) : At least 230 people have so far died in swine flu in Gujarat as the deadly disease rages at least four major cities of the state, reports said.

According to official reports, the high incidence of H1N1 virus has so far affected more than 2,100 people in Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodra and Rajkot.

Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, who visited several civil hospitals in Vadodra on Thursday, requested the Centre to send a team of medical experts to the state to suggest steps to prevent the spread of the disease.

The reports quoted Government officials as claiming that hospitals are  equipped with ventilators, oxygen cylinders and medicines.

Isolation wards have been set up in Government hospitals to accommodate the swine flu victims.
