Dubai, Sept 24 (IBNS) At least 150 pilgrims were killed on Thursday in a stampede at Mina, outside the Muslim holy city of Mecca, during a congregation of about two million for performing the annual haj pilgrimage, Saudi Arabia's al-Ekhbariya television reported.
The tragedy took place a day before Eid.

The news channel also quoted the country's civil defence officials as saying that 390 people were injured in the incident.

Over one lakh Indians were among the millions at the haj ceremony.

This is the second major disaster at Mecca this month after over  100 people were killed on September 18 when a construction crane crashed on the Grand Mosque.
